I was born on a bright and sunny day in Kumasi, which is a lovely city in
Ghana. My name is Star-King Osei Afriyie, and it is a special name! My
mum and dad chose this name because they wanted me to grow up
strong and be someone that others respect. My middle name, Darkwa,
has an important meaning too; it connects me to our family history. It
comes from a town called Kumawu in the Ashanti region of Ghana. And
my last name, Afriyie, helps show who I am as an African kid. It reminds
me of the bravery and wisdom of my great-great-grandparents who
lived before me.
