Lake Bosomtwe, located in the heart of Ghana’s Ashanti Region, stands

for centuries. This ancient impact crater lake, formed approximately 1.07
million years ago, showcases the area’s rich geological and cultural

The creation of the lake is linked to a meteor strike that resulted in a
crater later filled with water. Throughout the years, Lake Bosomtwe has

around 30 villages with a total population nearing 70,000—have forged
