About Course

The Adae Kese Festival is a significant cultural celebration of the Asante
people, a prominent ethnic group in Ghana. This festival is a time
honoured tradition that showcases the rich cultural heritage, customs,
and values of the Asante kingdom. Adae Kese, which translates to “big
Adae,” is a grand ceremony that brings together the community to
honour their ancestors, pay tribute to their monarch, and celebrate the
kingdom’s history and traditions.
During the festival, the Asante people come together to perform
traditional rituals, dances, and music, showcasing their vibrant cultural
identity. The celebration is marked by the display of regalia, including
Kente cloth, gold jewellery, and other symbolic artifacts. The Adae Kese
Festival serves as a platform for the Asante people to reconnect with
their past, strengthen community bonds, and pass on their cultural
heritage to future generations.
