This book ‘Untold story of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana’ focuses on the life and legacy
of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. A pivotal figure in Africa’s liberation
struggle, and a political leader whose influence reached far beyond his nation’s borders, Dr.
Nkrumah left an indelible mark on the course of African history. Through this book, we
explore Ghania’s story through the prism of its first president — beginning with his childhood
in colonial Ghana, through his rise to power as a key figure in the Pan-African movement,
and up until his time as Head of State.
We chart his political philosophy and assess his accomplishments during tenure as well as
how he has been remembered since leaving office. Through this lens we gain insight into how
independent Ghana was able to shape its own future amidst a rapidly changing global
context, led by a man who was never shy about ambition or courage.
